A modern day renaissance woman, Ms. Ayana Burnett is dedicated to re-membering and disseminating the wisdom of our Ancestors to our collective hueman family. She achieves this goals within her professional life by working as a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) who assists individuals, children and families in healing their hearts and lives whole. This Duke University and Smith College (School for School Work) alumnae trained for over 6 years with one of the largest Non-Profit Organizations in America and was quickly promoted to Senior Clinician before leaving to gain additional experience working within the Baltimore County Public School System. Not your ordinary therapist, she combines her traditional clinical training with a healing arts background as she is also a Reiki Master under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. AdaRA Walton, ND. Thus Ms. Ayana uses traditional psychotherapy alongside her intuitive and Spirit-led abilities to guide her sacred healing work with others.
A woman who roots her life in the mantra of “Embracing the GoddIss Within”, Ms. Ayana created the Sex As Prayer Women Empowerment Series and Retreats to further assist other women awaken their inner Goddess through the exploration of the powerful energies of sexuality, sensuality and intrinsic ecstasy. Furthermore, Ms. Ayana shares divinely inspired wisdom with an expanded audience through her professional writings as a memoirist and upcoming author.
When she is not channeling mothering love to her beloved clients or family, she can be found expressing her inner light passionately through dance, drumming or art. A world traveler by birth, Ms. Ayana is a returning Peace Corps volunteer who served in Botswana, Africa for 15 months in 2005-2006. Speaking of her volunteerism, Ms. Ayana shares “It was a truly challenging experience. I have grown in ways that continue to reveal themselves to me each day. I grew to love my village; so much so that my spirit remains connected to Mother Africa and is still dancing barefoot upon Her soil within my heart.”
Having received a B.A. in Psychology, a Minor in Sociology, a Certificate in the Study of Sexualities and a Masters in Social Work, Ms. Ayana is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Metaphysical Parapsychology from the University of Sedona and looks forward to the future program expansion of Living Light, LLC. The formation of Living Light, LLC is a dream come true for Ms. Ayana as it is the vehicle through which she can share her love of learning, unlearning and re-learning the ways of Spirit, Life, Loving and Healing with others who are seeking the same.
